WEATHER EXTREMES
The security of our food supply is being substantially affected by climate change. Increasing temperatures and the occurrence of extreme weather events, such as heatwaves, contribute to widespread abiotic stress in crops. This stress adversely affects crucial plant processes like seed germination, plant development, respiration, photosynthesis, and reproduction (including flowering and fruit set), resulting in decreased plant growth and lower crop yields.
A COMPATIBLE SOLUTION THAT MAXIMISES RESULTS
MARTELLO® is PSI® Technology backed and specially formulated to increase tolerance to abiotic stress and optimise crop health. With unique modes of action under stresses like heat, salinity, and drought, MARTELLO® helps crops thrive during challenging conditions.
- Accumulates thermos protective sugars & heat shock proteins in flowers
- Improved carbon & nitrogen metabolism under stressed conditions
- Increased pollen viability & improved fruit set
- Increased abiotic stress tolerance & greater yield retention
MARTELLO® offers great compatibility with calcium and acidic mix partners with a pH lower than 4. This makes it easy to use with other mix partners that have a slightly acidic pH range of 4.5-6.0, without the need for pH adjustment.
MARTELLO® is certified organic. Our commitment to these organic standards not only benefits our customers but also helps protect the environment. When you choose MARTELLO®, you can trust that you are making a sustainable and responsible choice.
PROVEN IN THE FIELD
To target the negative effects of periods of high temperatures during the important reproductive stage, we evaluate the potential of MARTELLO® in improving fruit set in tomato plants under both unstressed (27/22°C) and heat stressed conditions (31/24°C). MARTELLO® not only increased total fruit number under unstressed conditions, providing also higher fruit yields under chronic heat stress conditions. This retention of crop productivity was obtained increasing the number of flowers and activating thermotolerance responses that improve the fraction of pollen viable and guarantee post-pollination processes such as pollen tube growth or fertilisation (see Carmody et al., 2019).
Working with strategic partners in key regions, we deliver MARTELLO® globally. To enquire about our distribution partners in a specific country or to connect with our team, please do not hesitate to contact us.
